Camping Supplies
Here is a small list everyone needs to supply for themself to help make the trip go well.
- pack
- Sleeping bag
- Eating bowl, plate, fork, knife, cup (Silverware/plastic silverware)
- Water bottle
- Headlight or a good flashlight
- Extra batteries
- bug spray
- sun block
- matches/lighter
- 2 Trash bags
- Napkins
- Toilet paper
- Rain gear
- Swim suit/towel
Items we need only one person to bring

Saw/axe- Brad will bring a hatchet - Bee sting kit
- Another 2 man Tent
- Compass
Brad's Camping List

- sleeping bag for jones (maybe)
- LED flashlight
- LED headlamp
- leatherman wave (contains saw)
- personal food bowl and utensil (for jones as well)
- working on two man tent tomorrow, can get compass from same dude
- guy probably has EVERYTHING you could think of, so if other things are needed let me know.
- probably don't need both stoves, joseph's is very small and the fuel light weight

Hiking/Camping Plan
Route: AT and Pine Mountain Loop Trail, access from Grayson Highlands State Park
Day One
- Hike from Massie Gap to Whitetop Mtn
- Camp near creek
- 10 miles
Day Two
- Hike from Massie Gap to Buzzard Rock. Return back to Rhododenden Gap.
- 8 miles of hiking
- Decide to hike the Pine Mountain loop or explore another route towards Grayson
- 5 miles of hiking.
Day Three
- Hike 2-4 miles to parking lot from either Pine Mountain or route determined during trip
- Return to State Park by morning
- Jason would like to be back to Raleigh by 4:30 if possible, to see his parents who will be at the shower (a wild weekend with ponies may change his mind) -- Brad 17:34, 28 May 2008 (PDT)
